Morning in the Studio

The best mornings in the studio are the slow ones — coffee, a blank canvas, and time to simply look. I mix a few base tones and let the day tell me which direction to take.

Some of my favourite passages in finished paintings were born in those unhurried first hours, before expectation sets in.
